What's in my Head
I'm Myranda; Wee ginger, musician, archer, Dancer (only in my kitchen), smartass, what have you.
I'm an artist of many forms, except... maybe the most traditional form; (My drawings are pretty hit or miss.) I knit, I have taken an immense interest in my body- working out/diet, sculpting to my own perfection.
I love games and metal. Mainly classic/older video games, but there are some pretty sweet newer games hangin around lately.
I am a rocker until the end- and no, I'm not just talking death/black metal/hardcore bands that come and go. I mean Rock n' Roll maaaaaaan.
I love my tattoos; They are the external bearing of my soul, and the art, love, and music (one in the same, in my opinion) living in it.
I love my pets dearly. They keep away boredom, and most importantly, they constantly remind me to be loving and gentle.
I want to own more exotic animals, which has started with my wolf-dog. Next will probably be a full-blooded Timber Wolf. Then maybe an Ocelot named Babu. I've planned on being a vet since I was about 5, and have just recently begun my schooling.

Omfg don’t ever own fish.
Just moved my 30 gallon to my second story apartment. Still have to move my 10 gallon, but I think I can manage it on my own. I now know that when I get my 150 gal, it’s going to be in a house I never fucking plan on moving out of. 10 lbs per gallon, even 80% drained, fuck you gravity.

On second thought…
I deleted the cake post… I don’t think he’d ever wander onto tumblr, but I don’t want to ruin the surprise. HE’LL KNOW, DAMMIT, HE’LL JUST KNOW.

The more I try to meditate and try to retaliate with kindness, not nastiness. The more I try to understand and be compassionate rather than harsh… I run into the road blocks of petty, small angry people, and they make me very very deeply sad. I suppose that they are just lessons in patience. I just got to this page in a book I’m reading and it opened my eyes more than most of the book.

This incredible invertebrate is Scolopendra gigantea, though it also goes by the names Amazonian giant centipede, Peruvian giant yellow-leg centipede and the bat-eating centipede. Bats are but one of many vertebrates Scolopendra gigantea preys on - it has been known to devour frogs, toad, small lizards, snakes (up to around 24 cm long), mice and birds the size of a sparrow. Though it has a potent venom, it possibly is the least remarkable part of how it preys on bats.
In their paper on the subject, Molinari et al identified 3 ways Scolopendra gigantea hunts bats. The first two suggest that it crawled up the bat cave wall to the ceiling and either found a perching bat or waited for a bat to perch near it. The third is the most incredible, describing how the centipede could hang from the cave ceiling and grab a bat in midflight, quickly immobilizing it with venom delivered via its forcibles (or poison claws).
Whichever option it is (and Molinari et al appear to lean towards the third), when it attacks the bat it injects its venom near the brain. The centipede then sets to work devouring its meal, holding the bat with its first eight pairs of legs and holding on to the ceiling with its last five to eight pairs. This feat is even more incredible when you consider the difference in mass between predator and prey - while the centipede may weigh around 9.0-9.5g (before eating) it has been observed in this position eating bats weighing around 16.5g.No. No. No. No. No. *Douses self in gasoline* I don’t care how incredible and fascinating you are, devil worm.
